As they trudged through the knee-deep snow, their comms crackled to life. "Carver, this is Isaac. I've got eyes on a possible Marker location. Get over here, we need to move."

Isaac nodded, even though he knew Carver couldn't see him. "Let's move, Carver. We can't afford to waste any time."

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the Mauler collapsed to the ground. The Necromorphs dissipated, fleeing in terror. And Isaac and Carver stood victorious, their chests heaving with exertion.

But they worked together seamlessly, their movements practiced and precise. They'd played this game before, in the depths of space and on the surface of other planets. They knew each other's moves, and they trusted each other with their lives.
