Sam smiled. "Told you we'd watch it together."
Another buzz. "Seriously, Leo. Delete it."
"Almost," Leo said, his voice thick.
He clicked Resume .
Leo ran upstairs, threw open the front door. Sam stood there, duffel bag on his shoulder, uniform wrinkled, looking tired but alive.
They never did watch the movie. They didn't need to. The download wasn't the file. It was the promise. And it played perfectly.
