Enter Iván Fuentes (not the one from later seasons — a new, original character). Iván is the son of a disgraced tech billionaire who was jailed for selling state secrets. He arrives at Las Encinas with two things: a chip on his shoulder, and a USB drive. He reveals to Samuel in private that his father was the one who encrypted Polo’s deleted confession video. Iván has the unedited version — the one where Polo confesses to hitting Marina with the trophy, not just "finding the body."

But Samuel can’t accept that. He calls the police. However, before they arrive, Carla reveals she had the real USB drive all along — she stole it from Iván’s body. She offers it to Samuel: "Destroy it, or I tell the police Ander confessed to you. You’ll be an accessory."
