Just watched the 1080p release of Kingdom Uncovered . Unlike the usual glossy travel promos, this BBC/ITN-produced doc digs into the human cost behind NEOM, the Line, and the cultural revolution.
7/10. Well-produced, but rushes through the economic dependency on oil.
The doc loses focus when it tries to cover both sports-washing (Ronaldo/Saudi Golf League) and actual human rights. Feels like two different films stitched together. Still, the drone shots of The Line's construction site? Haunting.
