Kochikame Episode 42 Review
Ryotsu, desperate, has a "brilliant" idea. He runs to a nearby pachinko parlor and grabs a giant magnet used for cheating at the machines (a running gag). He climbs to the top of a police watchtower.
Ryotsu’s tiny figure flying over the Tokyo skyline, his angry shouts fading into the sunset. The narrator (with deadpan humor) says: "And so, Kameari's most financially irresponsible officer became the first man to orbit the Kameari Shopping District. Twice."

Nakagawa yells, floating upward.
"Nakagawa! Bend over!" Ryotsu yells.

Noguchi proudly announces his invention: It’s a bulky, inflatable vinyl suit with small ducted fans on the arms and legs, powered by a lawnmower engine strapped to the back. Kochikame Episode 42
"The Great Flying Nakagawa" (とんだ大空の逃亡者) Original Air Date (Imagined): November 15, 1998 Episode Synopsis The episode opens on a quiet afternoon at the Kameari Police Box. Nakagawa is polishing his already immaculate motorcycle, while Honda (the former juvenile delinquent turned traffic cop) watches with a mix of admiration and annoyance. Ryotsu is, predictably, asleep at his desk, drooling onto a lottery ticket.
Nakagawa watches, brushing pigeon feathers off his uniform, and says with a small smile: "At least the traffic is clear now."
Just then, Noguchi returns, having fixed the suit’s remote control. "I've improved the stabilizers!" He presses a button. The discarded, crumpled lottery ticket—which was still stuck to the magnet—activates a backup battery in the suit. The suit inflates again , this time attaching itself to Ryotsu’s back. Nakagawa sighs. "It's covered in pigeon... souvenirs. But yes." Back at the police box, the station chief announces the lottery results on the radio. Everyone gathers around.
"Is it safe?" Ryotsu asks, eyes sparkling.
