Dracula meets John Wick in a tutu. Don’t miss it.
Absolutely. The excellent transfer, roaring audio, and genuinely informative special features make this a keeper for horror fans. It’s a rewatchable gem—perfect for a double feature with Ready or Not . -Movie- Abigail -BLURAY-
If you go into Abigail knowing only one thing—"the little ballerina vampire girl"—you’ve already bought the right ticket. But what directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (the Ready or Not and Scream team) deliver is far more clever than the B-movie premise suggests. And on Blu-ray, this gothic, gory ballet shines. The setup is delicious: a ragtag crew of criminals (including the always-great Melissa Barrera, a scene-stealing Dan Stevens, and the hilarious Kathryn Newton) kidnap a 12-year-old ballerina named Abigail (Alisha Weir). Their job: watch her for 24 hours in a sprawling, isolated mansion. The payout: $50 million. The catch: Abigail is not a normal little girl. Dracula meets John Wick in a tutu
Film Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Blu-ray Rating: ★★★★½ (4.5/5) But what directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett
To say more would spoil the fun, but the film masterfully pivots from a tense Reservoir Dogs -style thriller into an all-out, blood-splattered horror-comedy. Once the revelation hits, the movie never lets up. The choreography of the violence—mixing Weir’s real-life dance skills with gleeful gore—is a genuine standout. One continuous shot of carnage set to a Swan Lake remix is worth the price of admission alone.
