Mumbai / Los Angeles – In a bold departure from conventional whodunits, streaming platform Triflicks has unveiled its latest original film, Murder -2023- . Directed by emerging auteur Reyansh Nair , the film refuses to be just another crime thriller. Instead, it blends a fractured timeline, moral ambiguity, and a terrifyingly plausible vision of digital-age violence. The Plot: One Year. One Killing. Infinite Versions. The title’s dash and year are intentional. Murder -2023- opens not with a body, but with a date: December 31, 2023, 11:59 PM . As the new year’s countdown plays on a dozen screens inside a Mumbai high-rise, three strangers realize they each remember the same murder—but with different victims, different weapons, and different killers.

But the film’s secret weapon is as The Archivist —a mysterious figure who appears in every timeline, never speaking, only typing. His final line, whispered directly to camera, has already become a spoiler-guarded phenomenon. Technical Mastery Cinematographer Hélène Durand (known for Nightfall in Goa ) shoots the 2023 segments in cold, sterile digital 8K, while the “memory” sequences flicker like damaged celluloid. The sound design by Oscar nominee Faizan Ali uses binaural recording so intimately that viewers reported “hearing footsteps behind them” during test screenings. Controversy and Censorship Notes Murder -2023- has already drawn scrutiny from two national censor boards for its “unreliable witness” narrative device , which some argue could influence real jury trials. Triflicks responded by adding a short disclaimer before the film: “This is fiction. Memory is the real murderer.” Release Strategy The film premieres November 17, 2023 exclusively on Triflicks. However, in an unprecedented move, three different versions will be available—each with a different ending.
