The window shattered. Not from an explosion, but from a glitch —a clawed hand of jagged polygons reached through the air, dripping zeroes and ones like oil. A Level 7 Ravager. It smelled his fear.
Kael didn’t reach for a gun. He reached for the only weapon that worked: a battered power glove, its knuckles etched with the faded logo of the old game. He slammed his fist into the charging beast.

The corporation called it Synaptic Battle Engine v1.0 . Everyone else called it the Crash. It rewrote physics. Suddenly, anger had weight. Despair became shrapnel.
