Riffsandskulls has always understood that “bad” art can be good if the soul is right. The sprites here are a massive upgrade from the first tournament. Gone are the rigid MS Paint cutouts; in their place are fluid, almost Skullgirls -lite animations, albeit filtered through a blender of early 2000s Flash cartoons. The backgrounds are chaotic: a collapsing strip club, a volcano shaped like a famous v-tuber, and a parking lot behind a Denny’s at 3 AM. The “Final” stage, The Throne of Broken Controllers , is a visual masterpiece of neon and rage.
