I recently reinstalled Granny 1 for a “nostalgia run,” and I forgot how brutally simple—and perfect—this game is. Here’s my updated take on the game that locked us all in that creepy house. Unlike later games, Granny 1 doesn’t rely on jump scares. It relies on pressure . You have five days. One house. One psychotic old woman. And a dozen hiding spots.

Is it still worth playing in 2026? Especially if you want to understand where the modern mobile horror genre really began.
